Forensic science day for Stage 3 students

Stage 3 students from Woy Woy Public School have participated in a Forensic Science Day.

"Year 5 and 6 students participated in an interactive Forensic Science workshop in our school hall on February 20," said principal Ms Ona Buckley.

The workshop was presented by the Education Interactive group and was called A Case of Emergency.

In the scenario presented to students, a 12-year-old student was missing and it was not known whether the student had run away from home to join the circus, was kidnapped, or whether something else had happened.

"Students examined the crime scene, learnt about animal tracks and scatology, took their own fingerprints, used a digital microscope and uncovered hidden clues," Ms Buckley said.
