Annual spring garden show

The annual spring show of the Central Coast Umina Garden Club will be held on Saturday, September 13, at the Woy Woy Meals on Wheels Community Hall on McMasters Rd.

The club's president, Rachel Perkins, said: "Not many people on the Peninsula know about our club and its activities."

Trophies, awards and small cash prizes will be presented and various garden sections contested at the show.

The show will be held between 12.30pm and 4pm and will officially open at 2pm.

Admission to the show is $3, afternoon tea included, and flowers will be sold at the show's completion.

Competition entries close at 9pm on September 11 and no late entries will be accepted.

The club was established in 1964 and meets on the second Saturday of each month at 1.30pm.

Rachel said: "We welcome all people on the Peninsula interested in gardening.

"We welcome people of all ages as well as beginners.

"We hold plant stalls and raffles each month, organise several bus trips each year to gardens, and regularly invite guest speakers, covering a range of topics."
