Folk clubs on show at festival
Five folk clubs will present their best artists to showcase their talent as part of the entertainment at the Umina Beach Folk Festival.
Five hours on Saturday, October 18, have been allocated for Sydney based and Central Coast Folk Clubs to present their best artists in concert representing a typical evening in their club.
Participating folk clubs are Dang-Lyn-Moon from Mooney Mooney, Hornsby, North by North West from Gladesville, Troubadour from Woy Woy and Toongabbie.
Concerts will take place under the covered outdoor area at the Umina Public School.
The inaugural Umina Beach Folk Festival Best Folk Club prize will be awarded to the club that is judged by mystery judges on overall variety, performance and audience reaction.
Clubs will be able to choose to use performers already booked for the festival or any they invite, as long as all performers are often seen at their club.
The first three clubs will perform between 11am and 2pm, while the remaining two clubs will be on stage from 4pm until 6pm.
Festival patrons will be encouraged to see for themselves the wealth of talent that can be seen at folk clubs in Sydney and on the Central Coast on a regular basis.
