Driving residents out with noise?

Residents of Terry Ave and Alpha Rd Woy Woy recently won the "land grab" battle against Gosford Council to unfairly acquire their properties.

As neighbours of the soon-to-be-built Regional Aquatic-Leisure Centre, they have just received a letter from Council of a proposal to change the plans.

The new plan is to remove sound insulation from the main structure.

As a large regional sports centre, this insulation was a requirement set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to protect neighbours from expected noise pollution.

At the risk of sounding cynical, it seems that Gosford Council lost the battle to openly acquire these homes so are planning to drive these residents out with noise instead.

A private development would not be able to erode requirements expected by the EPA so why should Council allow itself to break the rules?

Local residents need to send submissions by September 12.
