Mechanics source spares in Ettalong

Motor vehicle spare parts for Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Lada and Hyundai are now supplied to mechanics throughout Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle from Ettalong Beach.

After trading for 30 years in Parramatta, Continental Spares have moved to the Peninsula and service such a wide area by courier.

The parts are imported from Italy and South Korea and retail for less than from dealers of those brands, according to proprietor Gary Hopley.

"Our prices are also competitive with non-genuine alternative parts," he said.

Overseas shipments are received approximately every six weeks and are purchased direct from the parts manufacturers that supply the vehicle builders.

Mr Hopley has been a Peninsula resident for 15 years, 14 of which were on St Huberts Island and one year at Ettalong Beach.

"With the modern communications now available and improved roads from the Central Coast, it is just as easy for me to supply overnight from here and I don't have to commute," Gary said.
