Newcastle folk club visits Woy Woy
Members of the Newcastle Folk Club will visit the Troubadour Folk Club at Woy Woy on Friday, September 12, at 8pm.
Meeting at the CWA Hall opposite Fisherman's Wharf, an "Exchange Night" between the two clubs will be held.
Newcastle Folk club is one the oldest and most active clubs in the region.
Lead by Ron Brown, the "Performance Poet", the Newcastle club will bring "English Blues" exponent Paul Regan.
Paul plays finger-style blues and ragtime, a little bit of Dave Van Ronk and Leo Kotke, with a dash of Jake Thackery.
The Newcastle Club chorus group featuring Newcastle's best singers will lead the audience in sing along songs.
Brenda Bryant will also add her humorous and moving poems to the evening.
Father and son duo Kieran and Declan Egan will perform their traditional and contemporary Irish songs. Declan is a boy soprano.
The Troubadour will also feature many of its own performers in floor spots.
Tickets are $9 at the door and $6 for members.
Floor spots are available.
Members of the public are urged to bring their own instrument.
