Bensville church to be built in stages
An application to stage the building of a church and hall at Bensville has been approved by Gosford Council at its meeting on September 2.
Crs Craig Doyle and Lynne Bockholt moved that the recommendation of the director of development and health be adopted subject to the inclusion of "Condition 43".
Condition 43 required construction of drainage, a two metre wide cycleway and road pavement across the full frontage of the site in Empire Bay Dr.
It also required access provisions in accordance with council's civil construction specifications including "treatment" for vehicles right turning to the site and a left turn deceleration lane and 15m taper.
The work in stage one is to be completed within two years of the start of the development.
Stage one consists of a hall, servery and store and disabled toilets including 10 car parking spaces.
Sate two comprises of the main church building and the other components of the development as originally approved.
