New sponsors for Umina Rugby

The off-season has been a particularly busy one for Umina Rugby, especially in the area of marketing.

The club has been successful in gaining new sponsorship, doubling the amount available this year.

Cliffy Lyons is again captain-coach with Darryl Turner being appointed football manager, Cliff's sideline eye and also coaching the Under-17s.

The coaching staff will not vary a great deal from last year with John King retaining the reserve C-grade job, Paul McCarthy moving up with the boys to the Under-19s and Warren Hillier appointed head trainer.

The first official training session will be held at Umina Oval at 6pm. on Tuesday, January 16.

All players are welcome.

A wallet-size events calendar and season draw will be issued as soon as the Division releases the official draw.

The season launch will be held at Club Umina, the club's major sponsor, at 7pm on February 17.

Club officials expect Season 2001 will be "a very exciting one for the Bunnies" with all grades expected to be in contention for Premiership honours.
