China's ballroom champion enticed here

Peninsula ballroom dancing champions Robert Owen and Daphne Baldwin have been instrumental in enticing Mr Daniel Chang, China's professional Open Modern ballroom dancing champion, to the Peninsula.

Mr Chang, now an Australian citizen, has begun teaching and coaching ballroom dancing at Ettalong Beach and Saratoga.

Mr Chang has competed against the best ballroom dancers in the world and coaches many Central Coast dallroom dancers who until now have travelled to Sydney for coaching.

He teaches all levels and ages from beginners to professional and competitive couples.

"Mr Chang is one of the best coaches in Australia and we welcome him to the Central Coast," said Mr Owen.

"His presence will lift the profile of ballroom dancing on the Peninsula and the Central Coast," said Mr Owen.

Mr Chang plans to hold regular "Daniel's Ballroom Supper Dances" for Peninsula residents at the Senior Citizens' Centre, corner Broken Bay Rd and Karingi St, Ettalong.

A $12 entry fee includes a half-hour ballroom dancing lesson and refreshments.
