No logic to library fee

I congratulate Gosford Library both on its services and staff. Facilities and resources are also very good.

However, and there is always a 'but', I do not see the logic or requirement for the reservation fee on articles to be the odd amount of $2.20.

When the fee was doubled, I think it was about December 1998, to $2, I assumed the increase was rounded off to the next dollar as a matter of convenience and not a coincidence of costing. No objection to that.

Now surely the 20c GST applied since July 2000 could have been absorbed within that increase as a matter of convenience and at a small percentage cost to the council.

Odd amounts, like this example, seem petty and confusing when the original amount was obviously rounded up in the first instance for ease of commerce.
