Coastal Twist shop window competition opens

Coastal Twist Festival organisers have opened their annual shop window display competition ahead of the festival in September.

They are wanting "shopfront windows with your very best rainbow and sparkles or your interpretation of this year's festival theme - Inclusion Means You".

The competition runs for the duration of the festival from Monday, September 25, to Monday, October 2.

Prizes include a $1500 regional radio package, a $760 newspaper advertising package and a $500 signage package.

"Our shopfront window display competition is a fabulous way to show your support and join as a community, making the streets come alive with colour and festive flair," said festival director Ms Glitta Supernova.

Previous Coastal Twist Festival shopfront winners included Life Line Woy Woy, Big Boys Pizza, Link and Pin, and Paws on the Coast.

Registrations are open online at www.coastaltwist.org.au/shopfront.

The Coastal Twist Festival is described as seven days of "surprises, playful and profound fun and learnings" with gender and sexually diverse arts and culture from across the region.

Ms Supernova said that last year the festival attracted more than 9500 people with half being tourists.

The full schedule of events is also available on the festival website.
