Umina coaches are soccer coaches of the year

Umina United soccer coaches Dylan Pardey and Braedon Stokeld have been honoured as Central Coast Football's Coaches of the Year.

They each were presented with a $200 voucher.

Their citation stated that the pair have "selflessly devoted their time and efforts to coach the Umina Eagles Under-11C team, showcasing exceptional mentoring skills and leaving a lasting impact on our young athletes".

"What sets Dylan and Braedon apart is their genuine love for the game, as they willingly invest their energy into coaching without any personal association with the team.

"Their unwavering commitment and dedication shine through as they consistently show up for practice twice a week and attend every Saturday game, demonstrating their passion for soccer and their desire to contribute to the development of young players.

"One notable aspect of their coaching that deserves recognition is their age.

"At such a young age themselves, it is highly unusual for individuals in their early 20s to wholeheartedly volunteer their time.

"This demonstrates their exceptional character and their commitment to making a difference in our community."

Stephen Troilio from Woy Woy Football Club was a runner-up and will share in a prize pool.

Woy Woy Football Club said that Stephen was an asset to the club, well deserving of the award.

"Stephen's achievements include being the current Junior Representative on our Committee, 2023 Coach of the U14Bs, our two all-age women's teams, AA1 and AA3s, as well as coordinating goal keeping training, and the cadet referee program.

"In his spare time, Stephen also assists with general committee duties such as

working on the barbecue and ground set up."
