Only four days with rain in dry July
Rain fell on the Peninsula on only four days last month for a total of 21.5mm, around one quarter of the July average of 82mm.
Of the total, 11.0mm was recorded on July 24, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.
Another 5.0mm was recorded on July 17, and the remaining 5.5mm was recorded over July 4 and 5.
Last month was the second driest July in 19 years, with only July 2017 recording less at 2.5mm.
The cumulative total rainfall to the end of July was 464.3mm, silightly more than half of the average figure of 922mm.
