Rotarians drive across Australia for children's charity
Umina Beach Rotarians Mr Ian Johnson, Mr Wayne Dowdle and Mr Mel Dodds are driving a 40-year-old ute across Australia to raise money for the children's charity The Variety Club.
The three members of the Rotary Club of Umina Beach are taking part in the Bathurst to Batavia Big Bash in car 911, competing as the Rotary Old Boys.
The Bash left Bathurst last week on August 3 and will follow a 5500km route to Geraldton WA, where it is expected to arrive next Sunday, August 14.
The club has been raising funds with pledges currently totalling more than $13,000 but is wanting more.
Tax deductible donations by individuals or businesses can be made online at https://fundraise.varietynswact.org.au/fundraisers/Johnsonian/btobbash23.
