Vietnam memorial day to be held at Ettalong
A service will be held to commemorate the battle of Long Tan and Vietnam Veterans Day at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at the Ettalong waterfront on Sunday, August 20.
Organised by the Vietnam Veterans' Peacekeepers' and Peacemaker's' Association Central Coast Sub Branch and starting at 11am, the service will feature the Brisbane Water Brass Band and cadets from 25ACU Erina.
The service also marks the 50th anniversary of the end of Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War in 1973.
This was the first time Australians were able to see images from the Vietnam War on their television screens in their homes.
