When a promise is not a promise
I was more than disappointed to read that the Minns Government has back-flipped on its commitment to have free parking at Gosford Hospital.
I, like many others I am sure, took this promise into serious consideration when contemplating who to vote for.
Like many of us I am not getting any younger and the knowledge that Gosford Hospital is there is a comfort both for myself and for those who I wish to visit.
With the many ways that government's find to waste money, is this pittance really going to break the budget?
I am wondering now if this "promise" was made with crossed-fingers behind the back or just a sheer lack of research, which would have quickly proven that we are neither rural nor regional.
Either way it was made by someone who really couldn't care less: "Tell 'em anything to get their vote."
The final insult is to say that the hospital is close to public transport and the CBD.
I just wonder if David Harris has ever walked from Gosford railway station to the hospital via Coronary Hill (aka Faunce St W).
If you aren't feeling crook when you started out, you certainly are when you eventually collapse on the front door step.
