New ambulance station almost finished
Some readers may have noticed that the new Woy Woy Ambulance Station which has been under construction for a number of months next to Woy Woy Hospital in Ocean Beach Road appears to be almost finished.
I enquired about the opening date and received an email from the Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration Program on 25 July saying: "Final touches are being made and the station will move into operational commissioning phase followed by operations.
"A date is not yet confirmed for the official opening of the ambulance station."
If anyone is interested in being invited to the official opening, they can contact the program by phone at 9978 5933 or by email at hi-rair@health.nsw.gov.au.
Full details on the new station, including an artist's impression photo, can be found at https://www.mylocalambulance.health.nsw.gov.au/projects/construction/woy-woy.
I would be interested to know what other readers think about the external appearance of the new station, especially considering its prominent position on the edge of the Peninsula's main thoroughfare.
