Aged care home expects to start stage two next year
A Woy Woy aged care home expects to start stage two of its redevelopment early next year, following the completion of stage one in September.
"July has seen us welcome the first three residents into one of our newly-completed areas which has opened for operations," said Blue Wave Living chief executive Mr Matt Downie.
"We look forward to welcoming some more residents into this space over the coming month.
"The new space is part of the Beachside Household in the north east wing of The Shores building.
"All residents can access and use this space now, and our activities team is looking at some opportunities to also use this new space - in particular the wonderful new kitchen area."
Mr Downie said the stage one building work was "on track ... to wrap up in September".
Occupancy of the new areas would occur in October, he said.
"This will see us complete our first entire household, providing us with access to sufficient new bedrooms to allow us to invite the existing residents in The Shores' two southern wings into the new rooms.
"This process will occur over the months of November and December, to allow us to commence stage two works early in 2024.
"This new household will be Aqua House and is the north west wing in The Shores building.
