Extra $2 food option to help sick children

The licensee of fast food outlets in Woy Woy and Umina is asking its customers to contribute an extra $2 in each of their orders during August to raise funds for seriously-ill children and their families.

McDonald's Woy Woy and Umina licensee Mr Ron Mussalli said: "All funds raised will help Ronald McDonald House Charities to continue programs such as Ronald McDonald houses, family rooms, family retreats and the Ronald McDonald learning program.

"Adding a $2 Charity Bike to your Macca's order will go a long way in helping the charity to continue to provide a home away from home for families during their time of need.

"Every year, we are blown away by the generosity of our customers who passionately support Ronald McDonald House Charities and the work they do for seriously ill or injured children," Mr Mussalli said.

He said that Charity Bikes would be sold in the lead-up to the charity's annual Ride for Sick Kids, contributing to the event's fundraising total.

The ride will see a team of up to 25 riders cycle more than 500 km from Grafton to Newcastle from September 5 to 9 with the aim of raising $200,000.

This was equivalent to 1481 nights of accommodation, he said.
