Keep sick children at home, principal asks
Umina Beach Public School has asked parents and carers to keep sick children at home to avoid spreading disease through the school community.
"We have had a number of students reporting to sickbay recently with a tummy bug that seems to be moving through our school community," said principal Ms Lyn Davis.
She asked that sick children not be sent to school, "as this is how illness can spread".
"Usually a period of 24-48 hours is recommended to allow the contagious period of a bug to pass.
"If you require further information regarding illnesses then please visit the NSW Health section on the Department of Education's website.
