CCTV cameras installed at Umina
A total of 15 CCTV cameras have been installed at Umina by Central Coast Council.
Eleven cameras have been placed within the Peninsula Recreation Precinct - at the Jasmine Green's Park Kiosk and toilets, the barbecue area, the skate park, the BMX track, Col Gooley Field and the Umina Rugby League sports amenities building.
Four cameras have also been installed at McEvoy Oval.
The cameras have been installed with funds from a Federal Government grant under the Safer Communities Fund.
Central Coast mayor Cr Jane Smith said the project was part of an overall strategy to improve the amenity of public spaces.
"The installation of new CCTV is aimed to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour providing assurance to the community in the use of public spaces."
