Southern Spirit juniors finish an undefeated season

Southern Spirit Cricket Club's 13b's squad completed an undefeated season when they defeated Kincumber Avoca Green to claim the Premiership at Alan Davidson Park on March 10.

"Southern Spirit entered the game as favourites," said Central Coast Cricket Association's communication officer Mr Garry Burkinshaw.

"However, they were pushed all the way by the Greens.

"In the end were just a bit too strong.

"Batting first, Southern Spirit reached 8/91 from their 30 overs with Hunter Tomlinson 23 not out, Jaylen Johnston 18 not out and Ben Willoughby 16 not out leading the way.

"Emma Cormack and Ethan Jones were the best of the Greens bowlers with two wickets apiece.

"Kincumber Avoca Green started steadily with the bat with Jack Bowmaker making 17 at the top of the order," Mr Burkinshaw said.

The steady loss of wickets through the middle order, however, hampered the Green's chase and eventually they were dismissed for 70.

"Sam Cormack was good with the bat scoring 11 while Cameron Woodruff managed to score 10 before being run out in the search for quick runs."
