Time for exhaustive consultation again
I am writing in response to Matthew Wales who takes exception to the aims of a new community action group, Residents for Responsible Ettalong Development.
I take issue with his comment that the time a resident has lived in the area is relevant.
I live amongst people who have resided in Ettalong all their lives and they are generally not opposed to urban renewal but horrified as to the scale of new buildings and fear it will become unliveable (like Terrigal) in an area already struggling with proven urban heat island effects.
There is no excuse for poor design, less parking and fewer spaces for trees, gardens and shade.
It is now time for "exhaustive consultation" again with the community.
