Umina juniors contest grand final

Three Umina Surf Life Saving Club juniors contested grand final events during Surf Life Saving Australia's 2019 Aussies Competition.

The Aussies is the largest surf lifesaving event in Australia and acts as the country's national championships.

The event started off on March 30 on the Gold Coast with the youth championships, with the open and Masters championships running until April 7.

Umina sent several young competitors to the event with Ebony Rayner, Bethwyn Caller and Matthew Kearney all making it through to the grand final of the Under-15 Champion Lifesaver events.

Caller came away with the bronze in the grand final with Rayner placing ninth.

Kearney just missed out on a podium finish, placing fourth.
