Garage sale for Sydney eye hospital

The Rotary Club of Woy Woy will hold a garage sale on May 11 to raise money for the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation.

Club publicity officer Mr Vic Deeble said the club was inspired to hold the fundraiser to support the training of NSW Guide Dogs.

"One of our members has poor eyesight and is training potential guide dogs for the blind.

"They need to have supervised training for the first year of their life, plus show promise before they can enter the program to be fully trained as Guide Dogs.

"This is the second dog to attend the Rotary Club meetings as part of their training and, in recognition of this, the club decided to hold this fundraiser," Mr Deeble said.

The fundraiser will be held from 8am to 2:30pm at the Woy Woy CWA Hall.
