Trees planted at CWA hall
Members of the Umina branch of the Country Women's Association and the Grow Urban Shade Trees group came together on April 3 to plant two small trees on the grounds of the Umina CWA Hall.
Grow Urban Shade Trees was formed by members of the Umina Community Group concerned about the lack of greenspace and urban shade on the Peninsula.
The group regularly encourages and supports locals and other community groups with planting projects, from planning right through to planting.
Group member Ms Debbie Sunartha said a donation from Umina CWA enable the group to plant an Illawarra flame tree and a moonlight grevillea in the CWA grounds.
