Protest at oval use

Residents from Ettalong Beach Village have submitted a petition with 13 signatures to Gosford Council about a group of people using Ettalong oval as a weekend sleepover spot.

The petitioners stated that a group of people had gathered at the oval for overnight drinking sessions and perform acts of vandalism, with swearing and screaming at all hours of the day and night.

The petitioners said they did not approach the group for fear of retaliation, abuse or physical attack.

The petitioners asked the council to fasttrack its plans to demolish and remove the grandstand and relocate the public toilets.
