Council defends appeal

Gosford Council is to defend an appeal against a refusal of a house at 4A Beach Dr, Killcare.

The council refused the application on February 25 last year, despite a staff recommendation for approval.

Grounds for refusal included the size of the lot, the height, bulk and scale of the proposed development and loss of privacy.

Council also refused it as it was deemed out of character with the area and not in the public interest.

The applicant has lodged a modified development application with a smaller design which is expected to be considered by Council in May.
