Woy Woy wins AFL games

The Woy Woy Swans AFL team have kicked off the season with wins in the first two rounds of the competition.

The reserve grade also took out a second round win against Terrigal.

"The crowd speculated whether the Swans knew how to kick a behind after 11 straight goals were scored up till half time," said club secretary Chrissy Fitzgerald.

"The boys eased up some in the third quarter allowing Terrigal to post some points and almost smell a win, before the Swans ran home the victors on the day.

Round Two saw a return of the Peninsula Swans under 18s side to the competition for the first time in three years.

"The boys played admirably although mightily outnumbered on the day by the fresh Terrigal lads," Ms Fitzgerald said.

"With more training sessions at Rogers Park with coach Laing, they will be a competitive side in rounds to come.

"Players to watch in the coming rounds include Sam, Patrick, Aydan and Gerard," she said.

The club is still looking for players for this side and any enquiries can be made to Keir McSkimming on 0418201107.

Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm.
