New owners for store

The heritage-listed Booker Bay General Store is under new management.

The store and attached residence were recently renovated under heritage requirements.

The new owners are brothers-in-law Graeme Jones and David Waddington.

Graeme is a qualified refrigeration mechanic still living in Sydney and commuting to the Central Coast while David is living on site.

The new owners have been quick to drastically reduce prices in an attempt to recover lost patronage from locals.

The new owners have not had previous general store or take away food experience but feel that their experience in other areas will help them.

They are open for business from 7am till 8pm every day.

"The locals have been most welcoming and understanding while we feel our way into the business," David said.
