Fyna holds benefit concert
The "Fyna for Canteen" concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 24, at Lizotte's Ettalong Beach Club after its unexpected cancellation late last year.
The local rock band Fyna will be giving a performance to raise money for the teenage cancer foundation Canteen.
Restaurant owner Brian Lizotte offered the former Brisbane Water Secondary College rock band the use of his venue after hearing of the cancelled concert last December.
Members of Fyna Dave Jenkins, Tim John and Alex Bennison completed year 12 at the college last year and have just returned from Melbourne with their completed album and video clip.
The album comprises 12 original songs with five earmarked as singles.
They are signed with Empire records.
Dave Jenkins said they are presenting the band to all the major labels with great success.
"The concert will be a great opportunity for Fyna to raise money for an excellent cause while giving everyone a chance to come along and see what we have been up to musically."
Doors open 6.30pm and the cost is $7 a ticket. Under 18s will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets will be available on the night, or for bookings email fyna_01@hotmail.com or phone 4343 1624 during business hours.
