Rezoning rejected

Gosford Council has rejected a rezoning application for lot 41 Ocean Beach Rd, Woy Woy, from Bowdens Group.

The application was made operate a home business outside normal restrictions.

A staff report in the Council agenda noted that "applications such as the subject rezoning application lodged by Bowdens group are ad hoc and do not achieve compliance with the objects of the act. It merely seeks to legitimise a prohibited use."

"DIPNR has told Council in recent years, on several occasions, that it prepares too many Draft Local Environment Plans (DLEPs) and many of these DLEPs have no strategic basis.

"The subject rezoning application falls in to this category," it stated.
