Call centre looks for employees
A local call centre has reported difficulty in recruiting employees and currently has 27 vacancies.
Vogue Communications in Woy Woy have been using several employment agencies to try and find suitable employees.
The business originally concentrated on calling Vodaphone mobile phone clients around Australia whose contracts had expired with a view to offering them updated equipment on a new contract.
They now call mobile phone users across the networks offering new equipment and new mobile phone plans.
"Not everybody can do this type of work," said proprietor Jayde Woodward.
"They need to be out going, self confident and to be able to talk to strangers without being too upset by rejection."
Vacancies are both part and full time and the hours can be arranged to suit personal circumstances.
"Because of time zone differences, when it gets too late to call people on the eastern states, we can move west to South Australia and Western Australia extending our work hours as required," Jayde said.
Staff receive wages and commission as an incentive.
"Qualifications required are not necessarily educational but more personal skills together with a sales background or at least an obvious ability to sell," Jayde said.
The call centre uses the latest telephony and full training is provided.
