Walking the New England area

Pearl Beach Plodders Bush Walking Group spent seven days completing a variety of walks in the New England region of NSW in early March.

The 40 Plodders, with an average age of 70 years, walked in the Dorrigo, New England, Oxley Wild Rivers and Cathedral Rocks National Parks.

The group was accommodated in Yaraandoo Eco Lodge situated midway between Armidale and Dorrigo and on the fringes of the New England National Park.

Pearl Beach resident Philip Westlake led the spectacular and varied walks.

Group member Bev Lapacek said the group had a wonderful time walking, night spotting, and toasting marshmallows over the campfire.

"Happy hour was held each evening and a Mad Hatters Night capped off a wonderful week,"
