Presentations for touch football

Peninsula Junior Touch Football Association held its annual presentation day at Woy Woy Leagues Club on Sunday, March 28.

Every child received a gift, with trophies going to the winners of each age group and also for the best and fairest players picked throughout the year.

The association relied upon children who were willing to help out with refereeing and in the canteen thoughout the season, as well as parents coming to support their children.

Peninsula Junior Touch Football had over 400 children in their competition for the season.

They ranged in age from under-10 to under-16 and the season went for 18 weeks, with a six-week break over the Christmas school holidays.

Club spokesman Mr Geoffrey Staunton said the successful of the competition was mainly due to the sponsorship of Woy Woy Leagues Club and local businesses that provided awards to present throughout the season.

This year the club was able to send two representative teams away to the Junior State Cup in Wollongong in February.

Both the under-12 and under-14 boys teams did well.
