College makes football final

Brisbane Water Secondary College's rugby league team has qualified for a place in the final of the Central Coast Arrive Alive Final.

"After losing to Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College at last year's final, the team believes that they have learnt from past experiences and are in a better position this year to go one step further," the school newsletter has reported.

The two colleges will compete against each other in the final at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford.

Both schools qualified for the finals by finishing first in their respective pools and have not played against each other since last year's match.

The newsletter noted that "last week's tournament produced many wonderful individual efforts, however the coaching staff could not go past Daniel Fitzgerald as player of the series".

"Daniel received Man of the Match recognition in all of the four matches and proved himself as a quality centre."

Chris Hyde, Shane Lewis, Alex Brown, Aaron Bull and Ryan Varley were also commended for leading by example.
