Pennant wins to Everglades

Women bowlers at Everglades have won the district number 1 and 2 pennants.

The number 1 side went through without a play off to win outright.

Although they lost two players to another club, the selectors chose two more who went on to help claim Everglades' fourth number 1 pennant.

The team was Gwen Hewson (skip), Mary Ellis, Pat Walsh, Kristy Harper and Audrey Tucker (skip), Sue O'Connor, Joan Renehan and Josie Weate.

The number 2 side, in windy, hard and fast conditions won 59 to 28 against Toukley Memorial Bowls Club.

The team members were Mim Rose (skip), Mary Lami, Dot Stevens and Gai Jackson and Elaine Vincent (skip), Lucie Bryant, Fay Cross and Iris Bate.
