Belinda wins scholarship

Belinda Sutton of Brisbane Water Secondary College Year 12 Vocational Education and Training (VET) stream is one of 80 students statewide to have won a competitive scholarship.

She will participate in the Australian Business Week State Program based at the University of Sydney from July 13 to 18.

Her teacher Ms Rhonda Boardman said: "I am sure Belinda will represent the school with pride."

Year 11 Retail VET students from the college recently participated in a retail skills showcase at Erina Fair, competing against various schools on the Central Coast.

They entered all categories including window dressing, product merchandising, store layout and designing a "planagram".

The judges advised Ms Boardman that it was a close decision between BWSC and the winners, Northlakes who entered six teams.

"I must commend the team on their professional presentations and their behaviour throughout the day," Ms Boardman said.
