Annual cross country held

Woy Woy South Public School conducted its annual school cross country run at Rogers Park on Friday, May 9.

This event co-incided with their Golden Circle Fun Run which raises money for the children's cancer charity CanTeen, as well as the school.

The top 10 placegetters in each age category went on to represent the school at the zone cross country.

Age group champions were: 8-9 years Boy: Tristan Morgan.

8-9 years Girl: Tammy Brown.

10 years Boy: Cody Morgan.

10 years Girl: Shana Jones.

11 years Boy: Brayden Williame.

11 years Girl: Renee Mainwaring.

12 years Boy: Beau Bovis.

12 years Girl: Tamara Sexty.

Further, all children received a certificate and a sack, courtesy .of Golden Circle and an iceblock from the school for competing.

The school's infants participated in a fun run on the same day, held within the school grounds.

They also received both a certificate of participation, a sack and an iceblock.

At the Zone Cross Country held on May 23 at Umina Oval, Woy Woy South Public School won both the overall point score for the third successive year and the handicap trophy which is calculated based on results per capita, allowing smaller schools to be evaluated against the larger ones.

Zone representatives in Sydney North Cross Country held on June 11 at Gosford Racecourse were: 8-9years Boys: 3rd Coen Gehrels, 4th Tristan Morgan.

8-9 years Girls: 2nd Tammy Brown.

10 years Boys: 5th Blake Dawson.

10 years Girls: 1st Shana Jones, 5th Rachel O'Sullivan, 6th Miranda Litterick.

11 years Boys: 4th Luke Brooks, 5th Callum McGillicuddy, 6th Brayden Williame.

11years Girls: 1st Renee Mainwaring, 2nd Emily Ward.

12 years Boys: 5th Matt Goodwin.

12 years Girls: 1st Kirby Litterick, 3rd Tamara Sexty, 4th Hayley Jones, 6th Karmen Jeffery.

13 years Boys: DJ Hogan.
