Disability placement at Umina
Eagle Boys Pizza store at Umina has recently employed a person with a disability with the assistance of First Contact Disability Placement Division.
Store proprietors David and Michelle Collins said that they were happy with their new kitchen hand, a young girl with a learning disability.
"Right from the start, she was a very enthusiastic worker, willing to learn and picked up her duties very quickly.
"I can already see that she will become an asset to the team."
First Contact assisted people with a disability to find work, providing training in the new job and ongoing support to ensure both the employee and the employer are happy with the outcome, according to disability services manager Mr Brian Yates.
Mr Collins commented: "Having a trainer on site to assist the new employee makes it a lot easier.
"It takes the burden of training from our staff and makes the whole process very effective."
