Students' activities recognised

Woy Woy South Public School has recognised outstanding achievements by several of its students in extra-curricular activities at a school assembly on Friday, May 30.

Students and their parents received a presentation on behalf of the school and the P&C in appreciation of their efforts and the rigours such achievements represent.

The students were DJ Hogan, Vicki and Tammy Brown, Kathleen O'Donnell, Michael Jones, Kirby Litterick, Matt Goodwin and Beau Bovis.

DJ Hogan recently qualified for the BMX World Titles at Perth in July 2003.

This represents the culmination of a successful year where he has placed eighth at the NSW State BMX Titles and achieved selection for the World Titles through his results at the Australian BMX Titles held in April in Adelaide.

DJ's mother, Debbie Hogan, reported he had been given a training program to ensure he attained his best results at the World Titles.

Sisters Vicki and Tammy Brown are to attend the Australian Trampolining Titles in Queensland later this year after achieving great results at the NSW State Trampolining Titles where Vicki placed first and Tammy was ranked in the top 10.

In the arts, Kathleen O'Donnell has been selected in the Sing NSW Schools Choir for the second year running.

Michael Jones been selected in the NSW Junior Boys Dance Ensemble, also for the second year.

He will be performing at the Schools Spectacular at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in December.

Several students were recognised for their selection in Sydney North Area sports teams.

They were: Kirby Litterick for girls' cricket and girls' soccer, Matt Goodwin for boys' cricket, and Beau Bovis for rugby league.
