Study proceeds for rail underpass
A flora and fauna study is being conducted of the area affected by the proposed railway underpass in South Woy Woy.
The council's director of engineering operations Mr Stephen Glen has revealed this in a written response to a question from Cr Chris Holstein on February 4:
Cr Holstein had asked: "What is the status regarding discussions with the Roads and Traffic Authority on the Woy Woy Railway underpass proposal?"
The director's response stated: "A letter has recently been received from the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) discussing various aspects of the road safety audit undertaken for the project.
"These aspects require detailed investigation before further discussions can be effectively held with the RTA.
"A flora and fauna study is also currently being undertaken to determine if these are factors which could affect the location of the roadway and underpass.
"Once these issues have been resolved, a more comprehensive report is intended to be prepared detailing the proposed underpass."
