Federation president to be guest speaker

The State President of the Federation of Parents and Citizens, Ms Sharryn Brownlee, will be the guest speaker at a P&C information day and workshop to be hosted by Ettalong Public School on Thursday, May 15, from 9.30pm to 2.30pm.

This day will be a development opportunity for parents to increase their knowledge and understanding of how the P&C operates, and of the role of parents to help with their child's education, over and above fund-raising within schools.

Ms Brownlee will also discuss the various roles of canteen, craft and fundraising groups which all come under the umbrella of P&C.

She aimed to increase participation and raise the level of understanding between parents, students, teachers and school communities at a local level.

Cost for the day for non-financial P&C members is $10 to cover morning tea and lunch. Financial P&C members may be subsidised by their schools P&C Association and should speak to their local association.

Parents from all Peninsula schools, Point Clare and Pretty Beach Public Schools are all invited to attend.
