Congratulations on a fine local newspaper
We were visiting friends at Umina for a few days recently and dined out at the Club Umina.
While there, I picked up a copy of your December 11 local paper.
I read it from cover to cover and would like to congratulate you on producing a fine local newspaper full of interesting local news, stories and opinion pieces.
I get around a bit and always make it my business to pick up a copy of whatever local paper is on offer to find out what is newsworthy in the local community.
Despite only being 12 pages, your Peninsula News was chock-a-block with a wide range of content.
Many local news papers now are little more than advertising pamphlets but yours is definitely not in that category.
Unfortunately, many excellent local papers have disappeared (like our once glorious Kiama Independent) since the onset of the digital world leaving local people with little or no information about events happening in their own back yard.
Thankfully, after a gap, we now have a very good new publication called The Bugle.
Your efforts are all the more meritorious given that your staff is so small.
Well done and may you keep publishing and informing for many editions to come.
