Council writes Peninsula out of history
Central Coast Council has written the Peninsula out of history, in its Central Coast Thematic History which is currently open for public comment.
While Woy Woy is mentioned 77 times in the history's 190 pages, the Woy Woy Peninsula is not.
The word "Peninsula" is used only once: in "Kincumber Peninsula", referring to an area of pre-European settlement.
Wyong is mentioned 273 times and Gosford 408 times.
Blackwall and Umina, Pearl Beach and Patonga are mentioned seven times each, and Ettalong six.
Booker Bay is mentioned twice, but Phegans Bay, Horsfield Bay and Woy Woy Bay are not.
The comment period closes on Sunday, February 11.
