Netball club keeps fees at last year's rates

TKT Ocean Beach Netball Club members will pay the same fees this year as last year, despite a fee increase by Netball NSW.

The shortfall has been covered by money from a regional bank's community funding program, according to club president Ms Michelle Giaquinto

She said the club had also been "lucky enough" to receive funding to offer free training for its coaches and umpires.

"Offering free Foundation and Development training to all who require these skills, including junior up and coming umpires, is a great support for creating pathways in the netball world and furthering the development of our coaches and umpires.

"Having coaches trained with the correct technique, skills and resources enhances training for our teams and develops confident players."

Ms Giaquinto said: "The executive committee has been busy in the off season developing ways to improve and grow, buying new training equipment and preparing new sponsorship packages to offer the local business community.

"TKT are proud to have built a strong, fun, family-friendly environment for all to come and play or watch netball at Lemon Grove park, Ettalong.

"Netball remains the biggest female sport in Australia, but boys are also invited to play.

"Registration is open now on PlayHQ until February 18."

A face-to-face registration day will be held between 9am and 1pm on February 3 at 53 Breeze St, Umina.

For further information, call Ms Giaquinto on 0449 528 072.
