One fifth the average
Just 17.4mm of rain had fallen on the Peninsula for the month as of last Friday, October 25.
This is about one fifth of the average of 84.5mm for the month of October, according to figures provided by Mr Jim Morrison of Woy Woy.
The cumulative total for rainfall this year stands at 1137.2mm close to the average figure for this time of year of 1128.5mm.
Above average rains in the first half of the year have compensated for the run of four dry months from July to October.
Temperatures this month have ranged from an overnight low of 10.5 degrees on October 4 to a high of 36.3 on October 10, according to local weather website www.peninsulaweather.info.
Temperatures close to or above 35 degrees have been recorded on five days in the last two weeks.
Highest minimum recorded so far this month was 20.8 on October 23 and lowest maximum was 18.7 on October 14.
Highest wind gust was 33.8 km/h recorded on October 13.
