Cycleway extension to proceed

Gosford Council has received on a shared funding for the construction of a 2.5 metre wide concrete footpath and cycleway from McMasters Rd south along to The Esplanade at Ettalong.

The footpath will be constructed south along Blackwall Rd, Memorial Ave, Barrenjoey Rd and down Uligandi St towards the existing shared pathway along The Esplanade.

To enable council to construct the pathway, road widening will be required from the frontage of one private property on Memorial Ave between Lalina Ave and Wyalong Rd, Blackwall.

The proposed road widening will provide the minimum footway width to accommodate utility services and allow the construction of the concrete shared pathway.

The property owner impacted by the proposed road widening has been advised and a site inspection held, which resulted in his agreement in principal to the extent of the acquisition.

The Property Services Unit will manage the proposed acquisition transactions in accordance with council's Land Transition Policy.

A deed of release will be entered into between council and the owner as is required as part of the process to formalise the acquisition.
