Appeal for member involvement
The Ettalong Beach Arts and Crafts Centre committee has made an appeal to its members for greater involvement in running the centre.
Committee numbers have decreased due to illness and leave.
"This makes for a heavy workload," said committee secretary Ms Jenny Knibb.
"We are all volunteers and many hands make work light.
"For a long time now, the committee has been looking towards its members for support.
"All too often we have had no response.
"This is your arts and crafts centre as much as it is ours and we value your input.
"We would be grateful of help and support from members to attend monthly meetings which are held on the second Monday of the month at 2pm at the centre.
"Your ideas and suggestions would be appreciated.
"We would be grateful; if members could help set up and participate more in our exhibitions as these showcase our centre to the community.
"We would very much appreciate more assistance in the selling of raffle tickets to help finance the centre.
"We are a not-for-profit organisation and the sale of raffle tickets is important financially.
"We get no financial support from Gosford Council or the government and depend mainly on grants and our own fundraising endeavours to survive."
Street stalls will run throughout October and November in Ettalong and Umina to sell tickets
"Put simply, the centre needs more help from its members to run efficiently.
"We warmly encourage you to join us in making this an even better arts and crafts centre and urge you to become part of the decision making process.
