Super council is bad news
The push for a new super council, with the amalgamation of Gosford and Wyong Councils, will be good news for developers, big businesses and bureaucratic empires, but bad news for the citizen ratepayer.
Representation will be more remote and red tape will be more entangled.
History teaches us that.
Woy Woy Council was amalgamated with Gosford and Erina in the late 1940s.
Woy Woy then sat in the doldrums for many decades until people like Don Leggett came along.
